My Mother’s Saucer Magnolias.
It’s always one of the first Spring trees to bloom out, only to be killed by the next frost.

How pretty! We have nothing on the plains to compare.
When this tree was just small – in the spring if there were any threat of frost, mom would throw plastic or some kind of blanket over this tree to protect it. I guess it paid off.
I’m going to have to teach her how to post. :0) She could tell us a lot more about it.
